Tactile Data

A Lecturer in the Department of Media Communications, Cork Institute of Technology, Ireland, I hold a B.Des in Product Design, from Limerick School of Art and Design and an MSc in Interactive Media from the University of Limerick. I received my PhD from the Bauhaus University, Weimar, Germany under the supervision of Dr. Eva Hornecker.  The overall aim of my research is to describe and understand how embodiment and representational modalities influences and augments people’s experience of data.  It also seeks to explore whether embodying data in physical metaphors contributes to people’s capacity to construct meaning at its interface. Tactiledata.net is a space where you can view regular updates of my most current research and creative practice.  If you wish to email me please use hello at tactiledata.net or trevor.hogan at cit.ie
